GNSS Log App Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions
This privacy policy sets out how GNSS Log App uses and protects any information that you give GNSS Log Appwhen you use this website or application (app). GNSS Log App is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or app, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement. GNSS Log App may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from Dec 2, 2022.
What we collect
GNSS Log App does not collect any personal information nor does it transmit any personal data to any server. Login information is not required to use the app, nor is internet conectivity required (although certain features may be disabled without an internet connection). All of the data you enter into the app is stored on your device. GNSS Log App does not display any advertisements, use any trackers or analytics, or send anything to any server.
GNSS Log App does connect and send the device coordinates (latitude and longitude only) to public api servers at Apple and NOAA (Specifically NGS and CO-OPS) to retrieve weather and monument information. The app uses the camera's preview and motion sensors to collect visibility data.
The location of the mobile device is used for collecting location specific weather data and for searching for monuments in the public NGS (National Geodetic Survey) Integrated Database (IDB) and OPUS database. GNSS Log App will also ask to access your photograph library to import photographs into Observation Logs and to choose custom pictures for the logos.
GNSS Log App may send you local notifications to remind you when observations are complete. The app does not comunicate with your GPS receiver in any way.
If you send us an email, we will retain your email address long enough to address your message. We will not transfer your email address to any third party.
Exclusions and Limitations
The information on this web site is provided on an “as is” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, this Company:
- Excludes all representations and warranties relating to this website or app and its contents or which is or may be provided by any affiliates or any other third party, including in relation to any inaccuracies or omissions in this website or app and/or the Company’s literature; and
- Excludes all liability for damages arising out of or in connection with your use of this website or app. This includes, without limitation, direct loss, loss of business or profits (whether or not the loss of such profits was foreseeable, arose in the normal course of things or you have advised this Company of the possibility of such potential loss), damage caused to your computer, computer software, systems and programs and the data thereon or any other direct or indirect, consequential and incidental damages.
